Contempt Of Court To Be Initiated Against Cm Manohar Parrikar For False Allegations Against HC
Sunday - Jul 23, 2017
Panjim: Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today stated that he would tomorrow initiate Contempt of Court proceedings against Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for having demeaned the Majesty of the High Court by making wild, unwarranted and patently false allegations that it was the High Court that had allowed the sixth offshore Casino owned by former Haryana Minister Gopal Kanda’s Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited.
Accusing Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar of malafiedly and very high-handedly repeatedly wrongly accusing the High Court on the issue pertaining to the 6th offshore Casino, Adv. Rodrigues has pointed out that the official records clearly demonstrate that it was the BJP Government that had permitted the sixth offshore Casino after officially receiving 44 crores,
Adv. Rodrigues has stated that on 1st August 2016 Dattaprasad Lawande the then Additional Advocate General who is now the Advocate General of Goa, had stated before the High Court that a representation dated 4th April, 2016 had been received from Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited seeking renewal of the casino licence for the years 2011 to 2016 and that the State Government had favorably considered that representation subject to the payment of the Annual Recurring Fees with interest for all the five years from the year 2011 to 2016.
Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that Dattaprasad Lawande had also submitted to the High Court that if Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited deposited the amount demanded, the State Government would also favorably consider the application for further renewal of the Casino license from the year 2016 as well as the substitution of the vessel.
Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that the statements made by Dattaprasad Lawande were recorded in the order passed by the High Court on 1st August 2016 and clearly demonstrates that it was the government that had allowed this 6th offshore Casino. Adv. Rodrigues has stated that it was very inappropriate for Manohar Parrikar who now stands cornered and exposed to attempt to push the buck and falsely blame the High Court for a wrongful act committed by the BJP government.
