Our Goa Is Sinking By The Day – by Aires Rodrigues
It is very distressing to see the rampant unlawful land filling going on all over the Merces- Chimbel area adjoining Ribandar which is all leading to a catastrophic environmental hazard. With political patronage, on low- lying fields hundreds of huts and varied illegal business activity has mushroomed while the authorities in rank dereliction of duty are conveniently inactive.

The Chimbel and Merces Panchayats should stop being dens of Corruption. And after having promised to be the Watch dogs of Goem, Goenkar and Goenkarponn, the Town & Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai and the Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte now need to Walk the Talk by acting swiftly over this grand ecological disaster and social nuisance in the making.

This is Liberationponn that has allowed Marathiponn to supersede and sink your Goem, Goenkar and Goenkarponn. This has made Panjim to Panaji (pana-na-ji….without leaves) and coconuts trees into grass for cows to eat. What you now have in Goa is Marathiponn and your Goem, Goenkar and Goenkarponn has passed the ‘Watch dogs’ and gone to the dogs themselves to eat.
