2016 Guide To Shock Observers - by João Barros-Pereira
Wednesday - Feb 3, 2016
Goa's monsoon season is the time for shocks. Electric shocks, that is. When linesmen get electrocuted and die. Sad, indeed. However, in 2016 shocks have visited us early. A variety of shocks. One after another. The latest shock if we are to believe media reports is the government is going to introduce a dress code for the carnival parade. But, wait, a second. How is this possible?
Why To Vote For BJB? - by A. Veronica Fernandes, Candolim
Sunday - Jan 31, 2016
Some of my best friends are in the BJP camp and one of them a current MLA asked me, whom I will support in the coming election. When I said definitely not for your party, he questioned me, “why?”. Then I asked him why should I support BJP and you in particular when you voted in the Assembly in demoting the mighty Coconut Tree? Besides, I told him that your party has gone against all the promises giveninful Casinos are not evicted from Goa? Why minorities are psychologically disturbed with a feeling that they are
Census Book Shows Wrong Names Of Voters – by Stephen Dias, Dona Paula
Monday - Jan 25, 2016
CCP election is round the corner but the names in the census book shows wrong spellings. This I am categorically saying because there are lots of discrepancies in the earlier finalized book. Election Commissioner will not be able to set it right as the election formalities in the department is almost completed and that these studies are done too late. This was disclosed by their own staff member of their census itself, who came to my house to get the names corrected for revision of census book that the Collectorate, Mamladar and the Goa State Election Commission are adamant as they protect their own old staff who printed wrong names.
Don’t Gift The Next Govt To The Present One, Before A Single Vote Has Been Cast – by Floriano Lobo
Sunday - Jan 24, 2016
As far as GSRP is concerned, it has put down its commitments in its Constitution vide Articles 34 & 38 [5 member cabinet and no chairpersonships to MLAs] and vouches that it shall stand by these commitments if it is on its own. Any unifying force will not agree to these terms for sure. But it has to be
Second Class Citizenship! – by Joao Barros-Pereira

Donald Trump, a Republican Presidential candidate who is a billionaire has been making cheap and stupid speeches lately. He wants all Muslims banned temporally from entering the USA until the ISIS problem is brought under control, whenever that might be! During World War II Japanese Americans were interned in military

It is said that a book is not known merely by its cover. This aptly applies to Prof. Jose Pereira, a multi-lingual, multi-faceted genius who brought laurels not only to Goa, but to India and to the world. His appearance belied his intellectual brilliance, for which he was conferred with the Padma Bushan, on 26th January, 2012, the first recipient of the highest civilian award, who was based abroad
Goa’s Tourism Trade In A Muddle – by Aires Rodrigues
Friday - Jan 22, 2016
Tourism the backbone of Goa’s economy is now in total shambles and doldrums. The inflow of tourists has been retreating for varied reasons. The wretched infrastructure, the accident prone roads, erratic water and power supply, stray dogs and cattle, garbage strewn all over and the very high taxes have been turning the tourists off
Time To Act Regional Parties Of Goa Need Of The Hour – by Nixon Fernandes
Friday - Jan 22, 2016
We Goans are getting used to each and everything thrown to us by the govt. In the initial stages we revolt a bit but later we give in. Reason are many and one among them is we have a dearth of good leaders who will lead us. Some leaders have emerged of late but rather then guiding and leading the flock they

My below post was removed by FB at the instance of Salus Correia who thinks he is above all and the LORD OF THE WORLD. This frauds must have reported to FB as they could not bear getting exposed. Selfish Goans Willing To Destroy Their State – by Jose Maria Miranda
Wednesday - Jan 20, 2016
It is surely distressing and unfortunate that a small group of Goans has come forward to support one of the most atrocious and despotic decisions of this Government to classify our coconut tree as grass and allow it to be felled at will. Except for BJP fanatics and those who want to save their chairs and
