MARGAO: The vessel that hit the fishing trawler off the Agonda shore in the high seas on Thursday morning has been identified as that belonging to the Coast Guard. An inquiry has been initiated by the Coast Guard into the incident. MARGAO: In a tragic mid-sea mishap, five crew members of a fishing vessel ‘Sea Messiah’ have gone missing, while 23 others were rescued when the vessel capsized after being rammed by another vessel in the Arabian Sea in the wee hours of Thursday. One body was recovered in search operations by Navy, Coast Guard and other rescue vessels that continued till late evening.

MARGAO: The Margao police have arrested a 19-year-old boy, Saeesh Vaikunth Sinai Barad, a resident of Ravanfond, Margao, on charges of kidnapping and raping a 16-year old girl. Police sources said that the girl was forcibly taken by the accused along with him on April 19, and since then, she was wrongfully confined to a place at Colem, where he raped her.

MARGAO: Two youth died on the spot while an 11-year-old boy escaped with a fractured leg after a Deo scooter was ran over by a speeding lorry at a sharp turn at Uzro, Raia. Both the vehicles were travelling towards Ponda when the mishap occurred at around 8.50 p.m. The injured boy was rushed to the Margao Hospicio hospital.
