PANJIM: A complaint has today been filed by Adv. Aires Rodrigues with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) against the very exorbitant fees being paid to the Advocate General of Goa Mr. Atmaram Nadkarni. Adv. Rodrigues today met the Accountant General of Goa Ms Devika Nayar and while submitting the complaint sought her prompt intervention in the matter. PONDA: BJP-supported panels swept the polls to Sanquelim and Ponda municipal councils today. For the 14-member Ponda municipal council (PMC), the panel backed by MGP-BJP won in 11 wards. The others had to content with just three. Roy Naik, son of former home minister Ravi Naik lost badly from OBC reserved ward. Venkatesh Naik defeated Roy by a margin of 269 votes.

BICHOLIM: The panel supported by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious at the Sanquelim municipal council (SMC) elections, with its candidates winning six of the 11 seats the results of which were declared on Monday.
