MARGAO: The gram sabha of the Varca village panchayat held on Sunday adopted a resolution to oppose the proposed Mopa airport and to retain Dabolim as the sole international airport in Goa. Voicing concern over the rise in vector-borne diseases in the village, the gram sabha demanded that the health authorities take adequate preventive measures, including fogging of mosquito breeding areas in the village.

PANJIM: A group of Right to Information (RTI) activists here on Tuesday petitioned Goa Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo, accusing Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar of trying to scuttle the RTI Act and intimidate applicants.
