VALPOI: A huge crowd was seen outside Valpoi police station today from about 8 pm. All the muslim community gathered outside the police station as one of the community members was arrested by the Valpoi police on charges of slaughtering cattle. Inus Aga from Nanus Valpoi of Satari Taluka was arrested today by Valpoi police.

MARGAO: After a series of corner meetings across South Goa, Goans For Dabolim Only (GFDO) will now be heading to North Goa starting with Tiswadi. GFDO announced the dates for their first three meetings in Tiswadi. The first meeting will be at St Estevao on June 30 at 10.30am followed by a meeting at Taleigao on July 7 at 11am and at Agacaim on July 14 at 5pm.

PANJIM: A week after it threatened to stop all grants to the Gomantak Marathi Academy and set up an academy of its own, the government has softened its stand and is in the process of releasing some of the grant money to the academy. PANJIM: Social activist, physician and former Goa Bachao Abhiyan convenor Oscar Rebello was assaulted by bouncers of a film shooting unit in Panjim on Tuesday morning.
