JHARKHAND: People were angry over the death of a school boy. A mob attacked some priests and nuns of a Jesuit mission in Jharkhand on Sunday demanding a compensation of 1 million rupees for the death of a schoolboy. The 7-year-old boy of St. Xavier’s School in Karon district died suddenly on Aug. 2 after he complained of stomach pain. The doctor certified the cause of the death as cardiac arrest

PANJIM: Chief minister ManoharParrikar on Tuesday said that suspension orders on 24 to 30 mining leases would be lifted soon. He also clarified that lifting the suspension will not lead to an immediate resumption of mining activities, as the matter has to be decided by the Supreme Court.
