VALPOI: Some truckloads of ore were found stacked at Gaonkarwaddo, Advoi in Satari's Birondem village, when mines department and police officials visited the area on Monday. Samples of the ore were collected and police have been posted at the site. The ore was allegedly being transported illegally on Sunday

PANJIM: Chief minister Manohar Parrikar said 13 personnel of the mines department have been suspended so far, some are in jail and claimed that 50 others cannot be trusted because they "were part of the irregularities of the mining department". Parrikar further said that "he has been left with the task to correct the system, but sadly, needs to rely on those who had been part of the problem."
