CORRUPTION CONTINUES UNABATED IN GOA by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Thursday - Feb 21, 2013
When this government took over the reigns of Goa last March the Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar had vowed emphatically that it would be Zero tolerance to Corruption. The least that was expected to begin with was for the Chief Minister to reign in his Ministers, MLAs and the coterie of busy bees hovering around him. But this does not seem to have happened

After seventeen Canadian winters spent in Goa, I am now calling it quits!! The “Nirvana” that Goa offered when we first visited this idyllic country and the ensuing years were not only a joy, but it plunged us into a pristine world of hospitable, kind, loving and unaffected people. It was a Goa that had time for each other and friendship was not measured in terms of individual wealth.
Tuesday - Feb 19, 2013
Goa’s various lingering issues in fact seem to provide a lot of opportunities to various people. Repeated burglaries and crime in Goa have forced people to fortify their dwellings by metal grills and other surveillance systems. People’s concern for safety has opened the floodgates for various opportunities concerning security. Security agencies are also thriving due to the same
THE REAL MANOHAR PARRIKAR by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Tuesday - Feb 19, 2013
I have absolutely nothing personal against Manohar Parrikar with whom I have a very cordial relationship. Over the last 40 years I have highlighted wrongs done by successive governments and this mission I shall relentlessly pursue till my very end. During the Congress rule I was branded as a BJP man
IS GOA GOVERNMENT SERIOUS ON CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN? by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Tuesday - Feb 19, 2013
The Goa Government seems not to be serious on prosecuting those responsible for crimes against Children. Though the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 came into force on 14 November 2012, the Goa police are still using the Goa Children’s Act and apparently, are not even aware of the existence

LIVING WITH THE CALVIM TRAGEDY by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Monday - Feb 18, 2013
18th February is a year to the Calvim tragedy. Six persons including four small school going children lost their lives, when a local bus plunged into the river overshooting the ferry ramp. The government’s responsibility should not have ended with the compensation of two lakhs to each of the victim’s family. It ought to have been the start to bringing a proper and truthful legal closure to the case

CM MANOHAR PARRIKAR’S COCK AND BULL STORY by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Friday - Feb 15, 2013
I strongly refute the baseless and irresponsible allegation made by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar yesterday that I had pushed the father of the Vasco rape victim to go on a hunger strike. As Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar needs to get his facts right instead of acting like a rabid street fighter.
WILL GOA GET A NON-PARTISAN LOKAYUKTA? by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Thursday - Feb 14, 2013
The Lokayukta has to necessarily be a very non partisan independent minded person. Does Justice B. Sudershan Reddy the person hand picked by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar meet this requirement? On July 12 last year Justice Sudershan Reddy public expressed anger over the Telangana Congress MPs for deciding to vote for Pranab Mukherjee in the presidential elections
