BRINGING HOME THE PRODIGAL SONS & DAUGHTERS OF GOA by Joao Barros-Pereira
Wednesday - Dec 26, 2012
If the government is serious in its pronouncement of bringing back NR Goans and their children then they have to show us a plan. Otherwise it is a sentimental and irresponsible statement of the Deputy Chief Minister of Goa. I do not for a moment doubt his sincerity but there has to be a proposal, a plan.
GOA IN 1778 by Franco Fernandes, Chorão

By 1776 Mysore to the south of Goa had become angry with the large number of Índian Catholic converts in North & South Canara. They viewed the Portuguese Missionaries as agents of the Portuguese Government. In 1775 Haider Ali the ruler of Mysore expelled all Portuguese Missionaries from Mysore & Coastal

Every tourist that comes to Goa speaks of our beautiful State and its culture at length. But as for us, we can’t help but see the real side of it. How it has changed, not for the better, over the years. After the liberation of Goa, we can still see the Navy and Air force occupying major areas of the State. Panjim city is a classic example of army occupancy with their hospital; army vehicles repair facility
WARM FESTIVE GREETINGS by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Monday - Dec 24, 2012
Last Christmas Goa was gearing for the Assembly polls. On Christmas day I got a call from Manohar Parrikar wishing me Merry Xmas. It was a very cold call and almost mechanical. Maybe it was just one of those thousand calls he made that day to other voters of his constituency. This Christmas he does not need to make any such telemarketing type calls

CM AND CORRUPTION by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Thursday - Dec 20, 2012
On what basis does Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar claim that corruption has come down by 50 per cent? Despite fear of a backlash by this government the complaints at the Vigilance department are mounting. Those having the Chief Minister’s blessings are managing to get the complaints against them shelved in cold storage
MANOHAR PARRIKAR(C.M.) vs CORRUPTION by N.Fernandes, London
Thursday - Dec 20, 2012
Think Mr Parrikar`s figures (statistics) on Corruption, are plucked out of thin air. I also think some Mr Parrikar`s "promises" are plucked out of thin air. Their foundations are rather flimsy. Parrikar is now after the throats of the CEC & Supreme Court. My friend from Betalbatim, Jack de Lad, recently told me
FREEDOM IS IN PERIL by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Wednesday - Dec 19, 2012
On Goa’s Liberation day we need to ponder and brood over as to whether we can afford to drift away from the very democratic foundations of our country’s Constitution. In March this year, as a voter of his constituency I felt that Manohar Parrikar would deliver. Nine months down the line it’s a sense of utter remorse and regret
