RESTORING THE LOST GLORY by Nisser Dias
Thursday - Feb 21, 2013
It is indeed a nostalgic moment for Goa and its people that the 16th century Reis Magos fort has been renovated and restored. I really cannot say whether it has been restored to its past glory but the very fact that it has been restored under the guidance and supervision of our own renowned architect Gerald da
CORRUPTION CONTINUES UNABATED IN GOA by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Thursday - Feb 21, 2013
When this government took over the reigns of Goa last March the Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar had vowed emphatically that it would be Zero tolerance to Corruption. After seventeen Canadian winters spent in Goa, I am now calling it quits!! The “Nirvana” that Goa offered when we first visited this idyllic country and the ensuing years were not only a joy, but it plunged us into a pristine world of hospitable, kind, loving and unaffected people. LIVING WITH THE CALVIM TRAGEDY by Adv. Aires Rodrigues

18th February is a year to the Calvim tragedy. Six persons including four small school going children lost their lives, when a local bus plunged into the river overshooting the ferry ramp. The government’s responsibility should not have ended with the compensation of two lakhs to each of the victim’s family.
