FOR THE LOVE OF GOA, CAN WE SHED OUR APATHY? by Jose Maria Miranda
Wednesday - Apr 24, 2013
We, Goans, are an extremely docile lot. We tolerated the Portuguese, then the Indians and perhaps will welcome the Chinese if they decide to come here. It is not that there were no Goans who stood the might of the Portuguese. There were many and they mattered. They were neither rich nor powerful, but people of character, integrity and, most of all, courage.
ENTRY TAX COULD BE A BOON TO GOANS by Menino Fernandes
Monday - Apr 22, 2013
The current entry tax on non-Goan vehicles entering Goa from other states could be a boon in a way for Goans and Goa. It is evident that we Goans have been depending more and more on outside goods specially consumables especially the vegetable, rice etc coming from various parts of India and cheap vegetable mostly from Belgaum has made us more susegad than ever.
GOANS: AN ENDANGERED SPECIES by Joao Barros-Pereira
Monday - Apr 22, 2013
With the request for Special Status and the Regional Plan going in two different directions the question of what constitutes Goan Identity needs to be taken up in public forums all over Goa so that what is common is obvious to everybody. Goan identity includes the basics: land, house, language, food, drink, music, tiatr, art. Please make the list longer.
THE PLAYBOY GAME! by Savio Rodrigues
Sunday - Apr 21, 2013
For the uninitiated, Playboy is synonymous with adult-entertainment across the globe. From magazines it evolved into night-clubs for those socialites that prefer to have the night-club experience with a dash of adult-entertainment and titillation. The Playboy Bunnies are an attraction and have been brand-positioned as an attraction of the sexy-kind. The Playboy Bunnies are mostly

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND THANK YOU DR JAK SIKER, FOR I’M A GOAN STILL BECAUSE OF YOU by William Afonso
Friday - Apr 19, 2013
I have seen in many articles that a consensus is still divided on the famous “Goa Opinion Poll” of 1967. Many are happy about it that it was a Victory for Goans whilst many wished a Pro Merger with Maharashtra. Lately I have heard Many say that Had it Not Happened India would Have stuck to the
IS CHIEF MINISTER MANOHAR PARRIKAR DOWN WITH POLITICAL SCHIZOPHRENIA? by Adv. Aires Rodrigues
Wednesday - Apr 17, 2013
I am very grateful to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for having recognized that my brains are potent and fit to be researched. I also understand Manohar Parrikar’s dilemma and exhaustion while he struggles in his ongoing balancing act to hold on the Chief Minister’s chair. In this direction his unending U turns over the last 13 months having been on public display
I AM TOTALLY AGAINST MOPA: LATE MATANHY SALDANHA (Extract From His Interview)
Tuesday - Apr 16, 2013
I am totally against another airport in Goa. Goa is too small for another airport. They don’t know the implications. Why are there not night flights to Europe? Our people do not realise this: the sound (from aeroplanes) cause physical harm. It leads to constriction of arteries, mental disorders, stress and so on.
NO WOMAN OF STRAW, THIS! by Joao Barros-Pereira
Tuesday - Apr 16, 2013
When my friend Mathany Saldhana died a few days after winning the state election and becoming a cabinet minister in the Maonhar Parrikar government we were all despondent and felt Goa has lost an irreplaceable Goan. And, how true! But life goes on and the most reluctant politician in the government, Alina Saldhana, his wife had no choice but to step into the shoes
GOAN CLUB ACES MUMBAI BUILDER by Lisa Ann Monteiro
Monday - Apr 15, 2013
A number of Goan clubs in Mumbai which offer Goans in transit a home away from home are being preyed upon by ruthless real estate sharks. Razed to the ground by an unscrupulous builder, the St. John’s Grand Club of Benaulim in Marine Lines, Mumbai has won a protracted battle to retain its valuable property.
