PARRIKAR IS CONFUSED CHIEF MINISTER IN REGARDS TO AIRPORTS? by Stephen Dias, Dona Paula
Sunday - Oct 19, 2014
Parrikar dictates that Goa should have two airports, one in North and another in the South Goa, perhaps he is giving a precedent to other Chief Ministers of other states to have two or many airports and this way one fine day India is going to have number of airports. Some other Chief Minister after Parrikar may think of having another at West and East airports and may be at Centre also

This is in reference to a letter published in NT on 14th Oct 2014 titled “ MINDLESS OPPOSITION TO MOPA AIRPORT” by Michael Vaz, Merces who appears in favour of Mopa airport as he cites reasons that South Goa tourist taxis will certainly be deprived of their business and other reason that people would like to travel in this mode for enjoying trips and visiting places etc, and it is a culture

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had both vowed of Zero tolerance to Corruption and good governance with transparency and accountability. However their acts and deeds speak very much to the contrary. The awfully dark days are looming for the very Independence
GCZMA APPROVES PROJECTS AS PER CM''S ORDERS? by Stephen Dias

I am also in the opinion although I was living in that area ( Portais) earlier for so many years that this bridge from Patto to Four Pillars at St Cruz ( over the Ourem Creek ) is a MUST not only for the congestion sake point of view but it is shortening a distance by at least one kilometer, and the residents from Portais, Mala and even St Cruz are happy if that is built even without EIA clearance
DAY OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA-THE MIRACLE OF THE SUN by William Afonso

The year was 1917. World War I was looming large and particularly devastatiting Europe. In Rome Pope Benedict XV appealed for all Catholics to pray for Peace in the world. Above all an appeal was made especially to pray for the deliverance of Russia where communism was spreading its evil tentacles.
RELIVING LIFE FROM THE JAWS OF DEATH by Aires Rodrigues
Monday - Oct 13, 2014
Today would have been my 6th death anniversary. On 13th October 2008 while I was relishing the famed Chicken Xacuti at the Ashok Restaurant in Panaji a gruesome attempt was made by an armed gang of seven who had come fully ready to dispatch me to heaven or maybe to hell. It was, however, a very incredible miraculous escape from the jaws of death. My time may have not

Some people claim the renaming of a government college in Pernem after Sant Sohirobanath could damage relations between the various communities in Goa which are in harmony with one another. I'm sure neither the Hindus nor the Roman Catholics nor members of the other communities will vote for it. As the renaming of the government college as Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye is already
GOA NEEDS PEOPLE FRIENDLY GOVERNANCE by Jose Maria Miranda
Sunday - Oct 12, 2014
Rare are occasions when one is able to appreciate or praise a Government Department or Official for any good work done in the interest of the public. On the contrary, almost every day we read or hear criticism for their acts of omission or commission. To expect the authorities to act on their own even on issues that concern people’s lives or health is almost next to impossible.
HAS THE RULE OF LAW GONE FOR A TOSS? by Aires Rodrigues

After Manohar Parrikar coming to power, Adv. Saresh Lotlikar through his RSS affiliation and proximity with the Chief Minister has managed to get himself appointed as Special Public Prosecutor in a long string of cases. What is however very objectionable and deplorable is that while he represents the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Goa Police in many cases Saresh Lotlikar
HERITAGE LOST WHEN OLAULIM CLUB WAS SOLD by Adriano Pinto

We all like to make history or well live in it. Never did I think in my faintest imagination that my villagers would bury our history forever and together with it the hard work of our ancestors. It is with a heavy heart I write this with a hope this will live in posterity,
