Tiatro ‘Reporter’ by A. Veronica Fernandes, Candolim
Sunday - Apr 12, 2015
On 8th of this month I saw the new Tiatro “REPORTER” by Francis de Tuem at Pai Tiatrist Hall, Margao, starting at 3.35 pm and it was attended by the capacity crowd comprising 1000 + attendees. Though this is just the beginning yet the flood of crowd attending this show indicates the name and fame of the director who when after a brief period of working in Kuwait returned to Goa

Calvim’s Development But At What Cost? by John M Vaz, Carona, Aldona

The Calvim- Aldona Bridge has seen heavy traffic since its opening. At first, there were only light vehicles, but now, trucks have started to sneak, or rather, zoom in. Is Justice Eluding Us In This Country? by Jose Maria Miranda

My article of 28/3 on the Judiciary elicited a few comments from some well wishers. They opined I could have been harsher on the Judiciary, which, according to them, has taken a toll on people’s finances and health with their delays and unwarranted adjournments. In fact, someone commented that while Courts rightly condemn people for causing mental torture to others, they themselves could sometimes be guilty
Has The Judiciary Failed Us? by Jose Maria Miranda
Saturday - Apr 11, 2015
It is surely very unpleasant and most uncomfortable for someone, who has, in the past, extolled the virtues and actions of an entity or individual, to come back and say “mea culpa I have erred or have been too quick in my judgment”. I have a few times, taken up cudgels for our Judiciary when our politicians

Congratulations To Aires Bab by Stephen Dias, Dona Paula

Congratulations for your efforts. But why local Court waits for seven days when the SC gave their verdict? Is it because that Micky is a Minister or VIP? If it was for an ordinary man the rule of Law would be different? It appears to me there are different set of rules for different persons?

In response to the diatribe by the Dhavalikars I would request them to look within and reflect on the following:- The manner in which Hinduism uses the congruence of ritual and social status of the so-called upper castes and their overpowering dominance in the society in general and in the institutions of governance, production and education in particular to lead to marginalization and exclusion of lower castes

When Fanatics Cry Wolf by Soter D’Souza

Jesus came into this world to give us life. His death on the cross and resurrection was meant to earn heaven for us. Jesus is God and he could have earned heaven for us in any other way but he chose to do it only through the cross because that was the correct way of doing it. Even though he was God
