The Political Nonsense ….Goa Govt by Nixon Fernandes
Saturday - Aug 1, 2015
Goa Assembly session has started and as predicted it's nothing short of a fish market. The counters, allegations that are going on are nothing but just an eye wash. In fact the assembly is noisier than fish market these days. Everybody knows that the govt. is incompetent and it can't do anything without asking Mr. Parrikar. I wonder even before the CM goes to sleep he might be asking
You Are A Convict, Will Not Entertain Your Plea, Court Tells Former Goa Minister by Utkarsh Anand
Friday - Jul 31, 2015
Pacheco’s counsel, who had initially wanted four weeks to surrender, finally pleaded for three-four days more but the court remained firm on its decision and rejected his request. The Supreme Court on Monday ordered former Goa Minister Francisco Pacheco, who has been evading arrest for over a month after being sentenced to jail for six months in an assault case, to surrender immediately

It was quite shocking but not surprising to learn that Bio-Diversity Board Member Secretary Dr Nitin Sawant is on his way out. It is not shocking because Dr Sawant is an upright, honest, qualified and disciplined officer, who does understand the consequences of manmade disasters and who has worked hard according to his conscience, to safeguard the interests of Goans at large, especially the conservation of marine life
A Failed Dream by Aires Rodrigues
Friday - Jul 31, 2015
On 2nd October it will be a year that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched amidst much fanfare. High expectations were raised but the cleanliness drive has however remained a paper tiger ending up being a total failure as garbage continues to be accumulated everywhere, making one wonder whether the motives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were only purely political

Bharati ‘Dadagiri’ Thru Defiance by A. Veronica Fernandes, Candolim
Thursday - Jul 30, 2015
The entry of Bharat into my un-Bharati Goa was by force and thru “dadagiri” and the same Bharati dadagiri is still going on over my Goa and if nothing can be done by the combined might of all genuine Goans to stop this Bharati dadagiri, then this Bharati dadagiri will go on till Goa

I have always refused to plunge into the MOI controversy but hoped and prayed all along that an amicable solution would be found. To this extent Union Defence Minister Parrikar did come out with some via media. All that the Church demanded and continues to demand is that the resolution be enacted and given enough legal sanctity. But that never happened because just as many had predicted, the Church
When The Law Minister Did Not Uphold The Law by Aires Rodrigues
Tuesday - Jul 28, 2015
The cowboy style high-handed and illegal outing to Sada jail yesterday led by Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza to see their convicted colleague Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco was outrageous and needs to be condemned as it has sent a wrong message to the law abiding citizens
Goa, The Portuguese And India - By Adv. Antionio Lobo
Sunday - Jul 26, 2015
The debate over the visit of NRP Sagres to Goa and the simultaneous protest of some 30 or less BJP/RSS/FF protesters is to be viewed also in the context of the send off given to the very same ship by a flotilla of fisherman from Vasco, people who decided to discard the vacuous and false propaganda of the so-called Freedom Fighters such as Karmali et al as well as what is taught today
The Brave Kapil Natekar by Aires Rodrigues
Saturday - Jul 25, 2015
Over the last nine years we have heard of Kapil Natekar, but for many including myself it is seeing his photograph for the first time. On July 15th 2006 the then Animal Husbandry Minister Mickky Pacheco slapped Electricity department Junior Engineer Kapil Natekar. Possibly because Kapil Natekar was not from an affluent family, the police right from the start tried to hush
