PUNE: Bundgarden police, Pune, on Thursday took a man from Solapur into custody for allegedly duping Congress MP Vijay Jawaharlal Darda of 34 lakh between October 9 and 11. Inspector S B Nikam (crime) of the Bundgarden police station said that the man had telephoned Darda claiming to be Digamber Kamat, former chief minister of Goa, and demanded 34 lakh help for some Congress workers and relatives

PANJIM: The impersonator, who allegedly duped Congress MP Jawaharlal Darda of Rs 34 lakh, was on Friday handed over to the Pune police on transit remand for further investigation.
The impersonator, who identified himself as Digambar alias Balasaheb Khaire Patil was arrested by the Dhantoli police ( Nagpur) from Akkalkot, about 287 kms away from Pune, on Thursday.

PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday ruled out any negotiation with the Karnataka government over the diversion of water from the Madei basin to the Malaprabha basin.
