PANJIM: The Goa barge owners' association (GBOA) on Sunday accused the previous government of failing to stop the excess export of iron ore in 2008. GBOA secretary William D'Costa said that "The government permitted the industry to exceed the environment clearances (EC) limit of 36 million and did not take any steps to stop excess production or iron ore, which resulted in an increase in the number of barges."
